Geisha was collected in Ethiopia's Gori Gesha forest in 1936 — the same forest system as the first cup — and carried to Kenya, Tanzania and Costa Rica as a candidate for disease resistance. Nobody rated it. In Panama it was planted to break the wind at the edges of farms. In 2004 one estate entered it in a competition and it sold for a price nobody had seen.
